Remote Solar

Energy management for solar plants with batteries

We run your solar plant and battery, so you earn more.

Every day, as soon as tomorrow's electricity prices are published, Remote Solar checks them against the weather forecast and plans the next day hour by hour. Your plant then follows that plan. The battery charges when power is cheap and discharges when the price is highest.

How it works

One plan a day. The plant does the rest.

A normal day with Remote Solar, in four steps.

  1. 1

    Prices arrive

As soon as tomorrow's electricity prices are published, Remote Solar picks them up together with the weather forecast. It then works out what you'd actually earn in each hour, after fees.

  2. 2

    The plan is made

Remote Solar works out when to charge the battery and when to discharge it, so the day earns as much as possible. If we run your plant, we check every plan and fix it before it goes out when needed. If you run it yourself, the plan can go to the plant on its own, or you look it over and change it in the app first.

  3. 3

    Cheap hours: store

When power is cheap or the price drops below zero, the battery stores your solar power instead of selling it for next to nothing. While the price is below zero, the plant sends nothing to the grid. You can also choose to charge from the grid at night.

  4. 4

    Best hours: discharge

The battery discharges in the hours that pay the most, usually in the evening. If charging and discharging wouldn't pay off that day, the battery rests.

The product

Everything your plant does, in one place.

Your plant at a glance

The dashboard shows what the plant is producing right now, how full the battery is and what goes to the grid, next to the day's prices and plan. Put several plants in a group and you get the same view for all of them, plus what the group will deliver every 15 minutes.

  1. Production, battery and grid, right now
  2. Prices and the day's plan on the same timeline
  3. Whether the plant is running normally, at a glance

Plant status, checked regularly

Every plant is checked every 15 minutes. Alerts show in the app, and can also go out by email or SMS. While a plant is being serviced, its alerts can be paused.

  1. Each alert shows what's wrong
  2. Alerts are archived automatically once the problem is fixed
  3. The system reports a lost connection to the plant within about 10 minutes

Who it's for

For owners, installers and energy traders.

Owners & investors

More income from the plant you already have.

  • The battery stores cheap solar power and discharges when prices are best
  • See what each day's plan will earn before it goes out
  • Earnings in euros: from solar, from the battery and in total

Installers & equipment makers

Your equipment works as it is.

  • Works with common inverters and batteries
  • Adding a new model doesn't need custom development
  • Restart and update the plant controller remotely

Energy traders

Know what your plants will deliver.

  • A forecast for every plant, from its own output and the weather
  • Planned and delivered, every 15 minutes
  • Run all your plants as one group

Features

Planning, control and reports.

01Plan

  • Automatic daily plans

Tomorrow's plan is made and sent to the plant on its own, as soon as prices are published.

  • No selling at a loss

When the price drops below zero, the plant stops sending power to the grid and the battery stores it instead.

02Control

  • Battery under constant watch

The controller checks what the battery really delivers and flags it if it falls short.

  • Keeps working offline

The controller keeps today's and tomorrow's plans, so a lost connection doesn't stop it.

03Report

  • Earnings and reports

What the solar panels and the battery earned, each shown on its own, in euros.

  • Alerts

Problems flagged in the app, by email or by SMS.

Questions

Common questions

Didn't find your answer? Write to us

Who runs the plant, you or us?

Whichever suits you. We can run it for you: we check every plan and, if it isn't right, fix it and send it to the plant, follow how the plan plays out and get to the bottom of any problem. You then don't have to do anything. If you prefer, you can also run the plant yourself, in the app.

Do I have to do anything every day?

No. If we run your plant, the daily work is ours. If you run it yourself, with automatic planning on the plan is made and sent on its own. You can still open it, change it and send your own version at any time, and your version always comes first.

Which equipment does it work with?

It works with common inverters and batteries, and new equipment can usually be added quickly. Tell us what you have and we'll check.

What happens if the plant loses internet?

The plant keeps working. Its controller keeps today's and tomorrow's plans, plus a backup plan, and follows them on its own. The system reports the lost connection within about 10 minutes, and everything catches up when the connection is back.

Do I need a battery?

No. Without a battery, Remote Solar still forecasts your production, shows your earnings and stops sending power to the grid when the price drops below zero. A battery adds the most, because it saves solar power for the hours that pay best.

How do we start?

Send us a few details about your plant and equipment. We check that your equipment is supported and add your plant to the app. To begin with, the plant can be connected in read-only mode: the system changes nothing at the plant, but it makes the plans and works out what the plant would earn under its control. We then compare that with what the plant actually produced and earned, so you decide on real numbers.

Where is my data kept?

On our servers, with continuous encrypted backups. Every plan, instruction and alert stays on record.

Who can see what?

Access is by invitation only. Each person gets a role that decides what they can see and change, from full access to view only.

Do I need my own servers or IT team?

No. We run Remote Solar for you on our servers, keep it up to date and make sure it works. At the plant you only need a controller connected to your equipment.

Let's look at your plant.

Tell us about your plant and equipment. We can connect it in read-only mode first, so you see what it would earn before the system takes over. We're also open to partnerships.
